Our Story
— How Two Dads Ended Up in the Sewer Business
We get it — it’s not the most glamorous job. But what we do is really infrastructure repair for people’s homes, and there’s something about it that hooked us both. It’s an odd mix of heavy equipment, specialized industrial tools, and old-school know-how that doesn’t really exist anywhere else. Finding the break, fixing the line, and handing a homeowner their peace of mind back — that’s what gets us up in the morning.
One of us brought discipline, grit, and a “do it right the first time” mentality home from the Marines. The other brought a knack for problem-solving and a stubborn refusal to cut corners. Together, we started Level Sewer & Drain with one truck and a simple promise: be honest, work hard, and treat every home like your own.
That was a few years ago now. Time flies! Today, we’ve got a 4.9-star rating, 60+ Google reviews, and a phone that rings because our neighbors trust us enough to recommend us to theirs. That’s the best compliment we could ask for.
Levi's Story
“Whatever you are… be a good one.” – Abraham Lincoln
I’m a lucky father of two beautiful young children and a husband to a patient, loving wife. My hobbies are whatever my kids want to do, woodworking, and mechanical tinkering. I sort of fell into underground plumbing after getting a finance degree in my twenties when I met a kind, wise excavation company owner who needed a laborer. I loved hard work and heavy equipment. He taught me a lot.
I loved working in the dirt, coming home tired, and feeling accomplished. Life moved on, and I took a desk job. I missed the feeling of working with my hands and solving real-time problems. I came back to that feeling and couldn’t be happier. I love what I do and want to share that with you.
Josh's Story
“Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes.” - Oscar Wilde
I’m Josh Hutson, a proud dad to four wonderful kids and husband to my amazing wife. We love loading up for tent camping adventures—pitching our giant two-room tent, cooking hearty meals, and creating memories around the fire.
A former Marine, I served ten years in my twenties, including two combat deployments to Iraq. That time instilled discipline and resilience. Growing up on a farm in Washington state taught me the value of hard work and self-reliance, and I went on to study English and History at Norwich University in Vermont. My dream is to someday have some acreage with a big garden, some chickens, pigs, and ducks, all shared with my family.
These days, I enjoy the satisfaction of owning and running a business—tackling the challenges that come with it, seeing every project through from diagnosis to completion, and genuinely helping people. I like solve real, tangible problems for homeowners. I love explaining how their sewer and drain systems work, walking them through options with a camera inspection, and helping them make informed decisions that save time, money, and headaches. Once the job starts, my favorite part is digging small holes with my favorite short-handled shovel—getting my hands dirty and knowing the fix will last.
What We Believe
The Level Standard
We named this company “Level” for a reason. It means straight. Honest. No BS. Here’s what that looks like:
We tell you the truth
If cleaning the line will fix it, we’re not going to sell you a full replacement. We tell you what’s going on, what your options are, and what we’d do if it were our house.
We pick up the phone
Sewer problems don’t wait for Monday morning. When you call at 2 a.m. with water backing up in the basement, someone answers. That’s a promise.
We clean up after ourselves
When we leave, you shouldn’t be able to tell we were there — except that your sewer line works again. No mess in the yard, no ruts from equipment, no excuses.
We do work our kids can be proud of
At the end of the day, we go home to our families. We want our kids to know their dads do honest work and help people. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every single job.
The Team
Small Crew. Big Standards.
We’re not a huge operation and we don’t pretend to be. When you call Level Sewer & Drain, you’re talking to us. When we show up at your door, it’s us. That’s the whole point — you know exactly who’s working on your property.
